ABOUT ME

When I'm not working in the lab, I try to fit a diversity of other activities into my life. I've heard that exercise is good for you, so I like to go on long bike trips with my mom, or I run and swim with friends. I ran the Pittsburgh Marathon in 2019 and recently completed the 2023 Women's Philadelphia Triathalon!

I also indulge my artistic side. I love painting. I usually use acrylic paint for abstract work and oil paint for realism. I've been playing the cello for over 15 years. While I honestly prefer to listen to music, I've loved the time I spent creating music in various orchestras over the years. I hope that the cello is a part of my life for many more years.

As time consuming as graduate school is, I spend most of my free time with my dog, Dax. He came up to me in a park in the dead of winter in Rochester, New York. At first, he was malnourished and had a lot of health and emotional problems associated with abuse, neglect and abandonment. With some love and proper care, he's the most chill and affectionate dog I've ever met, so I'm glad we found each other. I included an extra picture of him because he has a cute face. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do.
